As the health hazards associated with smoking grow ever clearer with each passing year, governments around the world have taken dramatic steps to ensure that the general public does not become sick (and therefore put pressure on the health system) as a result of other peoples actions.

New regulations from various countries to prevent second-hand smoke sickness include:

• Not able to smoke in bars or clubs.
• No smoking in casinos.
• Designated smoking in specific areas - away from other patrons.
• No smoking inside, whatsoever.

All of these regulations came in to effect within the last few years, as the crackdown on tobacco products was taken to the next level.

But what about E-Cigarettes? Do they still qualify as a "cigarette" for regulatory purposes, or are they excluded from the rules? In other words, can you legally smoke an e-cigarette inside without fear of being fined or arrested?

The Term "E-Cigarette"

In many countries, the term E-Cigarette is defined in law, as a very recent addition. In almost all of the cases that we have seen, E-Cigarette smoking is acceptable indoors, because the smoke which is emitted from the device has been proven to contain no harsh chemicals - and therefore present no risk to passersby.

The difficulty will of course arise however with public perception. Because E-Cigarettes are so very similar in shape and function to a normal cigarette, bar managers and club owners who are oblivious to the recent developments will probably ask you to leave, thinking that you are breaking the law.

This has presented a range of problems thus far - including physical fights and arguments, and at the end of the day - legal action being taken.

How to Avoid Being Thrown Out For Smoking

Probably the best thing to do to avoid being thrown out of a particular bar for smoking your E-Cigarette is to inform the bar personnel before you light up (or turn on in this case) and tell the people around you that the cigarette is electronic.

This way, you are covering yourself and will be able to provide a valid accomplice should you be called out for smoking your E-Cigarette inside.

Of course - to ultimately and completely avoid issue - just take the E-Cigarette outside and have a good puff out there. That way, no one can complain whatsoever.
